Mt Mansfield Winter Academy MMWA - Mt Mansfield Winter Academy

Academics

MWA is able to accommodate all courses offered in the student's sending school. Laboratory sciences, computer courses, music, art classes, health, and outdoor education are all available along with all english, math, language, and history classes. All courses are available in advance study.

MMWA provides small group settings for students and follows the curriculum guidelines of the student's sending school. This setting allows for a broader and deeper coverage of subject matter as time permits; all students are required to take an active role in decisions regarding course work, supplemental assignments and the communication process with teachers and staff.

It is the goal of MMWA that through this program students will have a unique understanding of their studies, will become more responsible in their education, and will be more disciplined students upon return to their sending school.

Each student is assessed on a monthly basis with progress reports sent to sending schools and parents. Grades are given at the end of each quarter and submitted to the sending school.

Student's are expected to maintain a B average in all course work while attending MMWA. If a student's grade/work drops, training privileges are revoked until all work has been completed and the respective teacher and director have given their approval for the student to return to training.
